Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the Celtics in a win over the Timberwolves

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Celtics today in a win against last year's Western Conference finalists the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jaylen Brown started the game hot with 5 3's and scored Boston's first 15 points while the rest of the team struggled. Brown ended the game with a team-leading 29 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Tatum also had himself a night, trailing Brown in scoring with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Celtics are 12-2 against the Timberwolves in the Tatum-Brown era after today's win and are now 14-3, right behind the Cavaliers who sit at 16-1.

Boston, however, almost ended the game with a defeat after leading the game by 17 with less than 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves in the comeback and ended the game with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Suppose it wasn't for Brown's clutch 3 in the final minutes of the fourth quarter and the team's defensive efforts to prevent the game from going to overtime. In that case, the Celtics might have had another disappointing game against a struggling team in the Minnesota Timberwolves.
